About the client

Intelligent Business Re-Imagination (IBR) is a digitally led consulting / business transformation approach leveraging transactional data insights combined with deep business understanding across the operational value chain – with the aim to create rapid insights and shape these into impact and quantifiable digital transformation realisation roadmaps. Specific elements could include

  • Supply chain (sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, logistics & distribution)
  • Portfolio (product development, product life-cycle management, portfolio segmentation)

Job description

Sourcing and procurement capabilities in IBR cover the entire process range for source-to-pay:

  • Category management & market segmentation
  • Supplier profiling and strategy
  • Sourcing & contracting
  • Transactional processes ranging from purchase requisition to invoice settlement

Both direct and indirect spend are covered, indirect spend primarily evolves around the categories of Travel, Contingent Labour, Industrial Services, Spare Parts, Logistics, IT, Energy, Real Estate and Professional Services.

Within sourcing & procurement typical deliverables and work products we create include

  • Defining category specific spend taxonomies and cost drivers
  • Structuring contracts and quotation requests in a consistent and category-standard fashion
  • Apply and enhance buying channels (contract call-off / requisitioning methods)
  • Working with suppliers to arrive at optimum spend reporting methods
  • Shape use cases for advanced analytics in spend reporting (clustering, anomaly detection, mix optimisation)
  • Guiding data & integration and visibility enhancements
  • Identifying and realising savings at both tactical and strategic levels

Qualification & Skills

The ideal candidate profile would be comprised of the following attributes

  • 8-12 years of visible impact senior-level Management Consulting experience sourcing and procurement operations
  • Proven experience in managing senior Client business stakeholders (CPO -1)
  • Good understanding of indirect spend categories (Travel, HR, Industrial Services, Spare Parts, Logistics, IT, Energy, Real Estate, Professional Services etc)
  • Knowledge of indirect spend category supplier landscape, buying behaviours and category specific taxonomies
  • Good understanding of technologies used in sourcing and procurement (PR/PO/GR/SES/IN) with SAP and Ariba primary focus
  • Good understanding of SAP MM configuration for Sourcing & Procurement – in particular service master configuration (UOM, pricing conditions etc)
  • Knowledge of SAP contract set-up and call-off processes
  • Understanding of spend analytics at item level and use / application of advanced analytics concepts such as AI clustering, mix optimisation or anomaly detection
  • Able to independently analyse large datasets using established tools such as PowerBI, R, SQL etc and derive insights which are both defendable in Client presentations and documented for professional assessment reports
  • Highly innovative and impact thinking in both business operating model transformation and technology
  • Experienced and comfortable in leading consulting engagements end to end with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication – written, presentation and verbal
  • Ability to prepare and lead client workshops, capture, document, analyze and communicate information obtained during the workshop
  • Self-starter, passionate about results and a team player
